Well, here's one of those works of art that should've been finished and posted well before now.
I suspect the reason it took me so long to finish it is because I made it more to prove a point than because I actually wanted to.
See, sometime ago, I had one of my early fan art sketches
from the days when I was getting a feel for art again get featured in a group, LackadaisyCats
. I didn't think the piece was that great, but since at the time NONE of my art had been featured in any group, or probably even gotten enough attention to even know it existed, I figured if couldn't hurt, and allowed it to be featured.
Shortly thereafter, said pic had a suddenly spike in both attention and faves, which wasn't REALLY a lot, but for me at the time, who mostly went unnoticed, it sure seemed like it. It was even my most viewed pic for awhile, too (of course, my most viewed pics are always tend to be the ones I like least. What's up with that?). People seemed to like the pic more than I had given it credit for, which in the long run was probably a good thing, but deep down I knew that even back then I could now draw much better Lackadaisy fan art.
So I started the above pic.
And today, some months later, possibly has much as half a year or longer, I finish it.
Obviously wasn't high on my to-do list, was it?
But the point still stands. I can do better fan art than that other pic. And can probably do one that's even better than this one here now, given how long ago I sketched it.
