Project Genesis

"Project Genesis. A proposal to the Federation.

What exactly is Genesis? Well, put simply, Genesis is life from lifelessness. It is a process whereby molecular structure is reorganized at the subatomic level into life-generating matter of equal mass.

Stage one of our experiments was conducted in the laboratory. Stage two of the series will be attempted in a lifeless underground. Stage three will involve the process on a planetary scale.

It is our intention to introduce the Genesis device into the pre-selected area of a lifeless space body, such a moon or other dead form. The device is delivered, instantaneously causing what we call the Genesis Effect. Matter is reorganized with life-generating results. Instead of a dead moon, a living, breathing planet, capable of sustaining whatever lifeforms we see fit to deposit upon it.

The reformed moon simulated here represents the merest fraction of the Genesis potential, should the Federation wish to fund these experiments to their logical conclusion. When we consider the cosmic problems of population and food supply, the usefulness of this process becomes clear.

I supposed I could have done a bit more with this, possibly something better detailing the actual Genesis process for this pic, but that would be more effort than I had bargained for, and I kept thinking to myself this alone should be sufficient.

Besides, it took flippin' ...

...to find the right reference pic to use to create the one above, and even then, it wasn't as good quality as I would've hoped. Some details I just had to guess on, and to my eye for trivial details, it shows.

I had applied more glow effects on various buttons and the such, but when I saved the pic as a .jpeg, Photoshop kept minimizing them and/or removing them completely.

I had considered giving Celestia a Carol Marcus kind of hairstyle, but I wasn't sure how to turn that unwieldy mane of hers into such a smaller and simpler hairdo, so I dropped that idea.

...is it a bad thing that I'm already developing a fuller backstory to this pic in my head already? 0.o
