Pancakes!

"And make sure they're blueberry pancakes!"
"And why is that?"
"Because blueberry is awesome and buttermilk is for the unimaginative!"

My entry for and the theme for this week, A Pony Waking Up / Getting Breakfast.

This week's theme got to talking about pancakes and put me both in the mood for some and made me think of Lackadaisy. I initially was going to stay truer to the original dialogue, but ended up altering it slightly so it'd better fit the overall theme. That, and I was starting to run out of the room, and I stubbornly didn't want to have to make the canvas any bigger than it already was.

Done digitally in Art Rage Studio with some touch-up in Photoshop (turns out Art Rage Studio has a lousy selection tool). For the first time, I did all the dialogue digitally by hand. It proved to be a lot more tedious and hard than I expected, so I'm probably not doing it again, but at least I can say I tried.

It just occurred to me that, despite having long planned for it to happen, this is the first time I've actually portrayed these two conversing with each other.

Incidentally, I did have pancakes for breakfast this morning.
